Who runs this site?

Searchmaxxed runs six agency directories from one system and this policy applies to each of them. In this policy "we" and "us" means Searchmaxxed. Read who publishes this directory.

This policy describes our privacy practices and, where applicable, our obligations under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

What personal information do we collect?

• Listing requests. The claim form collects your email address, the request type, your message and your consent to store the request. We also record the agency and the site the request is about and the time it was sent.
• Agency listings. We collect business details from public Google Maps listings: business name, address, phone number, website, Google category, opening hours, star rating, review count and the number of reviews at each star rating. Most listings describe companies. Where one person runs an agency, some of these details can identify that person.
• Agency websites. We record the services, industries, platforms, published prices and stated business facts (such as founding year, team size, engagement model and minimum term) that appear on each agency's own website, with the page address and matched words as evidence.
• Server records. Our hosting provider records standard details of each request to the site, including requests for agency badges shown on other websites. These details include IP address, browser type, the address requested and the time.

Where does agency listing data come from?

Agency details come from public Google Maps business listings, collected with an automated tool. Each profile shows the date its listing was observed. The directory stores and shows star ratings and review counts only.

The collection tool also returns a small sample of public reviews with reviewer names. That sample stays in working files on our own computers. It is never added to the directory or published.

Services, prices and business facts come from the agency's own website. Our reader visits its homepage and selected linked pages about services, pricing, industries or the agency itself.

Why do we collect it and how is it used?

• Listing data is used to publish agency profiles and to score, rank and compare agencies by the method on how we rank.
• Request details are used to check and action your correction or removal request and to reply to you about it. We use your email address for nothing else.
• Server records are used to run the site and keep it secure.

Who do we share personal information with?

• Listing details are public on this site. An agency's score also appears in the badge the agency can place on its own website.
• Request details stay with Searchmaxxed. We do not publish them or pass them to the listed agency. We do not sell personal information.
• Vercel hosts the website. Railway stores the agency database and listing requests. These providers process data for Searchmaxxed.
• We may disclose information where the law requires or permits it.

Is information sent overseas?

Our website and database hosting providers may store or process data outside Australia.

Does this site use cookies or analytics?

This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics.

How do we protect and keep personal information?

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. Only Searchmaxxed can read the request database.

Requests stay in the database after they are resolved, as a record of why a listing changed. Ask us and we will remove your email address from a resolved request.

How can you see or correct your information?

Agencies can correct listing details through the claim form. Ratings and review counts come from Google and change when the Google listing changes.

To see or correct other personal information we hold about you, contact us through b@searchmaxxed.com. We may need to confirm your identity first. If we refuse a request, we will tell you why.

How do you ask for a listing to be removed?

Open the claim form, find the agency and choose Remove this listing. The listing stays unchanged until the request is checked. After that it is hidden from every page and kept out of future data runs.

How do you make a privacy complaint?

Contact us through b@searchmaxxed.com with the details of your complaint. We will look into it and reply to you.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may be able to complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Do we collect sensitive information?

We do not ask for sensitive information such as health details. Keep it out of request messages. The directory is written for businesses choosing an agency and is not aimed at children.

Can this policy change?

We update this policy when our handling of personal information changes. The date at the top shows the current version. Our terms of use cover the rest of how the site works.
